April 2 Worship Service: Holy Ground

Join us for a worship service filled with poetry, music and writings inspired by encounters with nature. From St. Francis of Assisi to Henry David Thoreau there is a long tradition of experiencing the Divine in the living planet around us. Drawing on the words of both scientists and theologians, we will honor the Holy Ground we walk upon. If weather permits, this service will be followed by a meditative guided walk at Thoreau’s Path on Brister’s Hill in Concord.
Leader: Rev. Alice Anacheka-Nasemann

Free, donations gratefully accepted

Join us for a meditative walk on the Thoreau Path interpretive trail in Concord honoring Thoreau’s contributions as a conservationist, teacher, observer, writer, and
pioneering ecological scientist. Children will enjoy a statue of The Lorax and a reading of this popular book by Dr. Seuss, while adults and teens will ponder inspirational quotes included on the trail. Our walk will include about a half-hour for personal reflection. Feel free to bring a journal or some easily portable art supplies to document your experience. Meet us at the trailhead or carpool together from the church at 1 p.m. For details on the trail visit: walden.org/property/bristers-hill/
