Group Healing and Transformation on the Labyrinth Path

An Online Service with Lay Speaker Karen Szklany

Karen’s first introduction to walking a labyrinth path involved a group gathered around creativity and artistic expression, and that has shaped the relationship she has developed with labyrinths over the past 20 years. When the Covid 19 pandemic hit last year, her involvement in groups gathering online via Zoom kept her creative process flowing. At least a couple of those groups involved walking a labyrinth together. Karen shares her experiences of how labyrinths bring us closer to our muses and facilitates shared experiences with a group of kindred souls, while simultaneously giving us greater clarity around how we are meant to live our best lives with intention.

“The Hero Path”

We have not even to risk the adventure alone for the heroes of all time have gone before us.  The labyrinth is thoroughly known…we have only to follow the thread of the hero path.  And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a God.  And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves.  Where we had thought to travel outwards, we shall come to the center of our own existence.  And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.

~ Joseph Campbell

Karen in Summer at Labyrinth CenterKaren Szklany is a Life Path Transformation Coach and a Certified Labyrinth Walk Facilitator through Veriditas.  She belongs to the Veriditas International Association of facilitators and serves as a Regional Rep for Central Massachusetts with The Labyrinth Society.  Karen chose walking labyrinths as a devotional meditation practice in 2002, when she was introduced to the path at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in Boston as member of a ‘fellowship’ for artists.  In 2016 she trained as a Labyrinth Walk Facilitator with Veriditas founder Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and has been facilitating group labyrinth walks for over 5 years.  She loves to share the magic and richness of the labyrinth as a means of transforming and regenerating our lives when walked with intention, a path that brings us home to ourselves and each person’s unique purpose.  Add the support of a Fellowship group and watch miracles happen!
