Healing No Moon Shamanic Ceremony
10:30 a.m. in Union Hall
UCMH’s DRE, Cynthia Menard, will lead a shamanic healing ceremony for all on Feb. 2nd, 2025. The No Moon Ceremony was, in her shamanic tradition, performed in mid-winter as a healing and protective act for the larger community.
During the ceremony we will call in the dark – from ourselves, our communities, and our global village. We will transmute the darkness, and then unveil light and raise energy. The light and energy we raise will be sent out to our communities to replace the darkness we called in. Along the way, we will journey to the Arctic, and work on our own healing as we aid our communities. We are going to use drumming during the energy raising segment. If you have access to (and are comfortable bringing) one or more hand drums, we’d love to have you bring them!
The ceremony begins at 10:30 AM and will last about 45 – 60 minutes. Following the ceremony we will have coffee and snacks for folx to socialize and ground themselves with before heading back out into the world. There is no cost to attend, but donations to UCMH will be gratefully accepted.
About Cynthia
Cynthia Menard is the Director of Religious Education for UCMH, and an energy healer. She is also a practicing Reindeer Shaman from a formerly extinct line of Nordic/Arctic shamans. She was connected with this lineage in a past life many millennia ago where she died during a test of strength in her shamanic initiation. Her then shamanic guardian and teacher became her maternal grandfather in this life and contacted her in 2022, thirty years after his death, to bring her back onto the path of Reindeer Shamanism.
“Winter is the time of sacred balance and rejuvenation of life in preparation for the coming spring. It represents abundance, teaching and gratitude.”
