Ballou Passes Good Citizen Test!
Ballou the Dog Passes Canine Good Citizen Test!
Many of you may remember that a year and a half ago the kids in our religious education program participated in fundraising efforts to raise enough money to name a puppy that would be trained by NEADS Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans to be a service dog. The kids suggested many name possibilities and members of the congregation voted amont them to choose the name Ballou, named for early Universalist Hosea Ballou, who was the “founder” of one of our “houses” in our Magic School program, the house representing love.
I recently received word that Ballou has passed a Canine good Citizen Program test that makes him eligible to receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. I have pictures which will be on display on the bulletin board in the parish hall. Stop and take a look – he’s quite cute!
