Magical Happenings for Dec. 3, 2006
from Alice Anacheka-Nasemann, Director of Religious Education

Today’s Classes:

Nursery (0-2): Wilhelmina with Kelly Anne

Pre-School-Kindergarten: Teacher TBA with Chelsea. The class will talk about ways everyone helps out at church and will be given the opportunity to serve by making and decorating chalice cookies for coffee hour.

1st- 9th Grades: The grade school kids will continue to make cauldron chemistry concoctions to sell during the month of December. All proceeds raised will be divided between the church and an animal shelter (the charity selected by the students.)

CHILD PICK-UP: Parents, please remember to pick up your child (through 6th grade) from his or her classroom at 11:45. Alice will ring a bell to remind you to do so at the appropriate time.

COFFEE HOUR & CHILDCARE: Our babysitters will be available in the parish hall until 12:20 to play games and make simple crafts with kids for the first part of coffee hour.

FAMILY & ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
PLAYGROUP: Our playgroup meets on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 at church. Please invite your friends!

SECRET ELVES: For the next month children and adults will have an opportunity to get to know one another better through becoming a “secret elf.” Starting next week, Dec. 10, participating kids and adults will be given a secret friend for whom they will leave small gifts and identification clues at church until Jan. 14, when we will reveal the mysteries in a special elves party. Sign up during coffee hour or contact Alice by phone or e-mail today or next Sunday only.

GUEST AT YOUR TABLE: There are plenty of boxes available if you would like to welcome a “guest at your table” to support the important work of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. Boxes will be due back at church on Sunday, January 14. For more information or for a box, see Alice during coffee hour.
