May is Magic Month
It’s once again time for the adult to join the children in keeping track of their magical acts of kindness, courage, persistence and imagination. Beginning today, adults will be encouraged to bear witness to their own acts of magic, as the kids have throughout the year. You are also welcome to be a “tattle tale” and “tell” on other congregants for their magical acts. Slips of paper and gemstones will be available in the foyer for your use.
Be creative in this venture! Think up a random act of kindness or senseless act of beauty and surprise a neighbor or your boss. We will have cards available at church that you can leave anonymously on the site of your random act of magic. Be courageous: stretch yourself to try something new or scary. Consider doing one of the following in an effort to spread the magic through Hudson, Marlborough and our surrounding communities:
- Leave flowers on someone’s doorstep, whether stranger or friend
- Offer a compliment to a grocery clerk or waitress
- Clean up a neighborhood park
- Learn a new skill: roller skating, bridge, tennis, public speaking…
- Take up pottery or write a poem
- Give something of yours away, perhaps even to a stranger
