America Inside Out

FILM SCREENING:
AMERICA INSIDE OUT WITH KATIE COURIC
TWO EPISODES ~ SATURDAY, MAY 5 AND MAY 12, 7PM

Join us for two screenings of National Geographic’s, America Inside Out with Katie Couric.  In this series, Katie Couric enlists cultural icons and regular folks to help her look past the noise, politics, and individual discomfort to understand the complicated truth about the complexities of religion, race, technology, and cultural norms, while highlighting the humanity beneath the surface.

She encourages people to keep talking — and listening — with each other to find common ground in today’s societal issues.

UCMH is pleased to share two episodes, The Muslim Next Door on May 5, and The Revolt on May 12.

THE MUSLIM NEXT DOOR explores “What is it really like to be Muslim in America?” with interviews from Muslims from all walks of life and all across the United States. Featured guests include famous comedians to a glamorous young model, hip-hop artist, olympic medalist and tech entrepreneur, and a rural medical doctor.

THE REVOLT looks at why women today remain more vulnerable to harassment and abuse in the workplace, then goes beyond those tragic stories to discover how gender inequality, unconscious bias and sexual harassment are linked. Decades after the women’s movement accomplished so much, women are still treated with less respect and given less opportunity and pay than their male counterparts in nearly every industry.

Please join us for these inspirational films and keep the conversation going ~ All are welcome!
