Women's Web Tent - Deep Listening

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 7PM
WOMEN’S WEB TENT ~
“DEEP LISTENING”

The Red Tent movement, inspired by Anita Diamant’s fictional story, The Red Tent, supports women in reclaiming the gifts of community as we gather together to co-create safe, woman-centered, restorative, inclusive community. Here in Hudson, MA, we have created and facilitated such a space for nearly a decade! And we are continuing this work online, during the coronavirus crisis, by creating that same Safe Space in which we enter times of sharing around a theme inspired by contemporary events and the hearts of our Red Tent sisters.  This week’s theme is “Deep Listening.”

Deep Listening is the sacred sharing we exchange with one another inside the Red Tent: “The greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention” (Richard Moss). Deep Listening is an act of Love. When a Tent Sister is given the floor, she is gifted the time and Safe Space to share what’s in her heart while her Tent Sisters listen, really connecting with her with no filters, no judgements, no agendas, and our full attention. As receivers of another’s deep sharing, spending time with open hearts and minds cultivates our empathy, our humanity, our self-awareness, enriching our lives with each story we hear. And Deep Listening doesn’t stop with the art of verbal exchange; indeed, how rich our lives become, how necessary it is for us to just Pause and spend time listening deeply to other forces in our lives: to our body’s wisdom, needs and desires; to nature; to ancestral callings; to our passions; to our instincts; to the pulse of humanity.
Let’s journey into reflections on Deep Listening, of all kinds. You are invited!

**PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL BE LOCKING THE MEETING AFTER 20 MINUTES. THANK YOU!!! **

To make this as restorative a space as possible, feel free to join us surrounded by any items that bring you comfort.

I’d also like you to please bring a small item that speaks to you of the fabulosity that is Woman. It could be a goddess statue, a crystal, a lovely apple, anything you’re inspired to bring.

This Tent is created for adult women and mature female teens (reminder: Trans sisters, this is YOUR Tent, too!) Feel free to share this invite!!!

No admission will be collected for our WEB Tents. If you are inspired and able (we all recognize this can be a very financially trying time), donations to continue the work of the SGCC — including this Red Tent — would be gratefully received!
