The Gift of Welcome
The Unitarian Church of Marlborough & Hudson invites you into a time of spiritual reflection with our Soul Matters Sharing Circle. Once a month, in lieu of a formal worship service, we will gather to create safe, sacred space together, in a sharing circle format, so we may explore topics that apply to our daily living, and which contribute to personal spiritual discernment.
Our theme for September: The Gift of Welcome.
Notice how often we speak about “widening the circle” and “making more room.” But spiritual masters remind us that feeling at home in the universe demands that we see ourselves as a tiny part of a greater whole, rather than believing that the whole world revolves around us. It’s a curious and wonderful truth: the road to a wider welcome often starts with limiting our own size. By becoming “smaller,” we paradoxically are better able to welcome in and receive the gift of “more.” Opportunities for Welcoming In are endless: we welcome in the gift of mindfulness and being present in the moment; we welcome in the world nearby when we take a walk outdoors; we welcome in the difficult things too, the unwelcome words and thoughts, to help connect us with what we’re searching for. And we welcome in self-care and imagination as we walk our spiritual paths. Please join us as we explore the gift of Welcome!
Youth ages 13-18 are encouraged to participate in our Circle. For children up to age 6: Nursery Care is available.
