English dancing is a wonderful form of social dancing, originally created in the 17th century in the British Isles. You may have noticed English dancing in movies such as Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility.
This event is great for beginners and two new dances will be taught. Most dances require simply walking, so physically, almost anyone can do it! Please wear comfortable, soft-soled shoes, preferably not slip-on style.
The schedule will go something like this:
Practice some simple and common moves (5-10 minutes)
Learn the first dance (20 minutes)
Break (Free refreshments – 5-10 minutes)
Learn second dance (20-25 minutes)
Led by Ginny Briggs from 7-8pm.
Additional dances take place April 14 and May 19.
Suggested donation is $5 per event.
We hope you can make it!
