“Obstacles don’t have to stop you.
If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up.
Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”
— Michael Jordan
We continue our February theme of Persistence with a look at UCMH’s past, present, and future . . .
A Civil War, two World Wars, The Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement — for more than 200 years in Marlborough and 160 years in Hudson, the forebears of our congregation have responded to the challenges of the world around them. Now the 21st century has presented some very real challenges for churches in America, with a national decline in attendance of 20% in 20 years. As we seek to meet the needs of a postmodern society, what can we learn from our history? This morning, Rev. Alice will share the Story of Us — a story of persistence in vision and mission combined with creativity and openness to change.
Kid-friendly activities also are available for all ages.
Please join us after the service for coffee, tea, refreshments, and fellowship.
