*New* UCMH Summer Camp Series
All are welcome to our first-ever UCMH Summer Camp Series!! Knowing that many of us are missing some of our favorite summer gatherings this year due to Covid-19, UCMH is offering a fun summer camp series on Saturdays throughout July and August.
We have a variety of types of program offerings . . .
The Fairy Houses, Pillow Forts, Scavenger Hunts, and Crafting projects are designed to be done during the week before the gathering, and when the group gathers on that Saturday, participants can share their projects and experiences. The Campfires and Dutch Auction are live, interactive events and information on what to bring will go out the week before.
All ages and abilities are welcome, no camp experience necessary — just bring your sense of fun and adventure!
No fee required, but donations are always welcome.

Thank you! 🙂

Fairy Houses with Karen and Cosette
Summer is the perfect time to build a fairy house for your garden from the nature outside your home. Making a home for a family of fairies can bring you good luck! Gather sticks, bark, leaves, pine cones, and rocks to build a fairy house. Glue them together and create attractive furniture, then choose a place in your garden to welcome the fairies. This activity is meant to be completed before Saturday, July 4th, when Karen Szklany will host an online gathering via Zoom at 1pm for sharing photos of what we’ve created — both of the process and of our final creations.
Led by Karen Szklany.

Pillow and Blanket Forts with Megan and Stella
Sometimes you just need a quiet cozy spot for reading, playing, journaling, or drawing. Fort-making is one way to create your very own personal space inside the house. Grab all of the pillows and blankets that you can find! Take advantage of furniture (like chairs, tables, and/or beds) for hanging up your new fabric walls. Make the fort extra special by adding lights and then make sure to fill it with your favorite books, snacks, and activities. Join us from within your own fort on Saturday, July 11th, when Megan Porter and Stella Damoulakis will host an online gathering from inside Stella’s fort via Zoom at 1pm for sharing what we’ve created — both of the process and of our final creations.
Led by Megan Porter.

Scavenger Hunt with Katie & Mason
Get your cameras and test your creativity with our virtual scavenger hunt! We’ll post a list of silly seeks and tasks on July 23 at 1pm, then you’ll have 48 hours to find/complete and photograph as many things on the list as you can. Get ready for tasks like reenact a famous painting with household objects or find something that you gave as a present. Photograph each object or task and upload them to a Google drive (the folder will be shared at the same time as the list) by July 25 at 1pm. During our Zoom gathering, we’ll share all our fun times from the scavenger hunt, look at your submissions, and find out who won!
Led by Katie and Mason Pekarovich.

Crafting with Jen
All-About-Me Boxes are a fun way to record who you are today. You start with a box; a shoe box or corrugated box works well. You want a box that you can display now and store for later. Larger boxes allow more area to decorate, but take longer to finish. Next you think about what you like and love right now. Sports, activities, people, toys, games, music, art, clothes, colors, and any items you like or love. Now the fun begins — you need to collect things that are, or represent, those likes and loves. It can be pictures you make or find, parts of games, stickers, found items from nature, writing, you name it! Then you attach the items to your box. Figure out how you will display your box, then decorate the back of the inside, then the top and sides of the inside, then the bottom of the inside, and finally the outside of the box. If you are going to paint any part of your box, do that first and let it dry before adding other items. If you think you might forget what the things on your box represent, then write it down and store the paper with the box. Display it proudly for a while, and when you are tired of looking at it, store it away and come back in the years to come to see what you still like or love and what has changed.
Start making your boxes before August 8. Give yourself several days to collect items for your box and to do the decorating. If you have any questions, feel free to email Jennifer and she will help as much as possible. We will share our completed (or partially completed) boxes on August 8 at 1pm. Be prepared to tell us what your box shows.
