“Walking. I am listening to a deeper way.
Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me.
Be still, they say. Watch and listen.
You are the result of the love of thousands.”

We continue our month’s theme of “Deep Listening” with a special Samhain Service.

Samhain, translated from Old Irish as “Summer’s End,” is a pagan festival marking the end of harvest season. With life falling back in preparation for the winter, the Gaels believed that the border between this world and the other world became thin on Samhain.

In this service we will honor the cycles of life and death and pay tribute to our loved ones who have died.

To adapt this service for our online format, you are invited to email Rev. Alice the names and pictures of a few deceased ancestors that can be added to a slide show in lieu of our usual Altar of Memory.

For inclusion, email pictures to Rev. Alice at revalice@ucmh.org by Friday at 5:00pm.

All are welcome to participate ~
Please see online Zoom access information below.
