“We Emerge”

The Red Tent movement, inspired by Anita Diamant’s fictional story “The Red Tent,” supports women in reclaiming the gifts of community as we gather together to co-create safe, woman-centered, restorative, inclusive community. Here in Hudson, MA, we have created and facilitated such a space for nearly a decade! And we are continuing this work online, during the coronavirus crisis, by creating that same Safe Space in which we enter times of sharing around a theme inspired by contemporary events and the hearts of our Red Tent sisters.  This week’s theme is “WE EMERGE.”

It’s now 2021; we continue to navigate a world-wide pandemic. And yet, our global women’s community is in the midst of a unique and unprecedented journey of emergence as we continue to step into the light and reclaim our proper place at so many tables. With the turning of the wheel of the year, many of us are feeling as if we’re seeing some light at the end of the tunnel; we may even begin to entertain the idea of emerging, in so many ways: from illness. From isolation. From cultural oppressions. From the Shoulds. From trauma. From fear and anger. From inertia. From our self-imposed limitations.

From a place of hibernation and into the sunshine, much like the lotus emerges from the mud. Our stories of Emergence exist on an enormous spectrum of origins ranging from toxic cultural paradigms to immense trauma imposed upon us by others. Some influences are conquerable; from some we may never be able to fully emerge. But may we remember that there is victory in the trying.

– What was your journey as you emerged from a very difficult or limiting situation and into your next best self? What was your catalyst for change?
– In your journey as a woman, do you feel you’ve encountered unique emergence experiences?
– If you find yourself currently in a situation from which you’d like to emerge, what do you need now to enable this? And what will that emergence look like?

Let’s journey into reflections on the how, when, and why We Emerge throughout our lives. We gather together inside the Red Tent that we may have a safe space to express what’s in our hearts and on our minds, and perhaps inspire others with our experiences and wisdom. You are invited!

This Tent is created for adult women and mature female teens (reminder: Trans sisters, this is YOUR Tent, too!) Feel free to share this invite!!!
