Women's Web Tent -- Planting Seeds, Growing Hope

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 7PM
WOMEN’S WEB TENT ~
“PLANTING SEEDS, GROWING HOPE”

The Red Tent movement, inspired by Anita Diamant’s fictional story, The Red Tent, supports women in reclaiming the gifts of community as we gather together to co-create safe, woman-centered, restorative, inclusive community. Here in Hudson, MA, we have created and facilitated such a space for nearly a decade! And we are continuing this work online, during the coronavirus crisis, by creating that same Safe Space in which we enter times of sharing around a theme inspired by contemporary events and the hearts of our Red Tent sisters.  This week’s theme is “Planting Seeds, Growing Hope.”

The hope of new life that the Springtime brings is just around the corner! But what we often don’t acknowledge is that the emergence of new life that we will soon witness in all its abundance is already preparing to take place. February 1-2 is Imbolc, a Gaelic traditional festival marking the beginning of spring. When we look at the science, we see that the earth has hardly been dormant; life is always present and preparing just below the surface. Times of renewal not only nurture, they transform what USED to be into what CAN be. Planting seeds means we believe in Hope. We experience times of replenishing dormancy, maybe even transformation, of our physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and energetic seeds, that we may emerge, reinvigorated, into our own fullness. Honoring this series of seasons, of changes, of cycles, those times we need to pause, take a break, rest up, find new motivation, and reset goals is how we care for those seeds. All the activity which is necessary to craft a life that’s a work of art originates with Planting Seeds.
  • What seeds do you want to plant? What seeds do you NEED to plant?
  • What obstacles get in your way from getting started, or from continuing to nurture those seeds of intention?
  • What new starts have you made in the past that you’re particularly proud of?
  • What seeds of hope have you planted for others?
  • What were your favorite moments of “Darn, yet another learning experience?
Let’s journey into reflections on planting and nurturing the seeds of our life’s journey. You are invited!
