“The Light Keeper’s Box” ~ Solstice Pageant

Shared Sunday Worship Service at First Parish UU, Northboro
This Sunday, UCMH joins with our friends at First Parish Northboro to celebrate the beauty of the season as we approach the shortest day of the year, a time filled with magic and mystery.

At this multigenerational service led by Rev. Alice and Cynthia, the Circle RE kids and members from both congregations will present a dramatic retelling of the story, The Light Keeper’s Box, from the Warao people in Venezuela.  It is an original tale about light and darkness that reflects the ancient Warao gift culture.

“The winter solstice has always been special to me as a barren darkness that gives birth to a verdant future beyond imagination, a time of pain and withdrawal that produces something joyfully inconceivable, like a monarch butterfly masterfully extracting itself from the confines of its cocoon, bursting forth into unexpected glory.”      —Gary Zukav

First Parish Northboro is located at 40 Church Street in Northborough, MA. The service begins at 10:30 a.m., with pre-worship announcements at 10:25 a.m.
